Papadopoulos: Jeff Sessions Lied Under Oath About Trump-Putin Meeting..

George Papadopoulos, who was sentenced to two weeks in prison Friday for lying to the FBI, said Sunday that his “recollection differs” from that of Attorney General Jeff Sessions regarding a key campaign-era meeting.

Sessions testified last year that he “pushed back” when Papadopoulos suggested during a campaign meeting that Trump meet with Russian President Vladimir Putin.

Later, three sources who attended the meeting told Reuters that, in the publication’s words, “Sessions had expressed no objections to Papadopoulos’ idea.”

Papadopoulos told ABC News’ George Stephanopoulos Sunday that Sessions had been “quite enthusiastic” about a potential Trump-Putin meeting.

Asked about Sessions claim that he “pushed back,” Papadopoulos said: “My recollection differs from Jeff Sessions’.”

By recusing himself, Session protected Mueller. Also probably protecting himself from indictment in the process. So even though Sessions may be as guilty as the rest he might be the only one to get out with his record intact.
