Related: Editorials & Other Articles, Issue Forums, Alliance Forums, Region ForumsOn days like this, it really hits home what a toll Trump has taken on my psyche.
It might seem counterintuitive, but I think it's because encouraging news allows me the opportunity to breathe. Life provides distractions, but there's always a simmering rage. It sometimes boils over.
I hate that I've allowed Trump and his klan to impact me so, but I have to admit that I'm in a constant state of disgust and anger.

(2,535 posts)We could celebrate it every two years on the Tuesday following the first Monday in November. Seriously, we should make it happen, a real civic holiday to mandate civic involvement.

(23,738 posts)I DON'T WANT TO HAVE TO THINK ABOUT THE F'ING PRESIDENT EVERY DAMNED DAY!
Even Bush didn't make me think about him everyday. I just want Trump out of my face. Forever.

(937 posts)I feel rage every day and sometimes it bubbles out. Like at the MN state fair when a guy was wearing a POS shirt saying that if you are offended by the flag you should move. I started talking very loudly saying well if we are listing what offends us, having to hear about people having unprotected sex with porn stars offends me. Collusion with an enemy of democracy offends me... as my poor mother is dragging me away and flag shirt guy and his wife tuck tail and fast walk away like the cowards they are.
Then I go and door knock and make calls for my local and national democratic candidates and feel much better. And I exercise.

(468 posts)every morning at 9:00 for the last 14 months, and 15 minutes of Buddhist meditation. That's how my wife and I blunt Trump rage/depression. We shall continue until he is out of office. Note: This is not a recommendation or advice. Check to make sure kratom is legal in your state.

(4,341 posts)I was talking to a friend of mine whose husband has anxiety from all the news, but if we look at the future we have to think about all the good that is going to come out of this, one will be a rude awakening for those who supported trump, and my friend is one of those, the other is that I think people (I am an eternal optimist) will start doing their due diligence before making final decisions, I think people understand now how important it is to know who they vote for, and to stop believing everything they read.
I told my friend tonight that she needs to vote in November, and she said "of course I will, we need to get rid of all the republicans", and she is one of those who voted for trump.
So cheer up mate, things are going to be good and we need to take this as a tough lesson learned.
