$46 million dollars in real estate, (including a Trump Tower apartment), bank accounts and life insurance policies. He's wiped out.

There was an interesting point made on one of the cable shows, (sorry, I don't remember which one). Manafort's lawyer made a comment about the safety and security of Manafort's wife and daughters. Most observers interpreted that to mean that Manafort was worried about reprisals from Russian oligarchs or even Putin himself.

Another view is that the lawyer was referring to financial security and safety for Manafort's family. In other words, he didn't have to forfeit all of his assets, just most of them. It seems fair to leave something for his wife who must be in her mid to late 60s. After all, she wasn't the guilty party.

In the end, Manafort is done. Now that Robert Mueller has him in his pocket, it's time to climb another wrung of the ladder to the top of the criminal enterprise. This isn't Mr. Mueller's first rodeo and I've placed my wagers on his success.

Can you believe this guy has a law degree from Georgetown? It's not like he couldn't have known the potential consequences of his behavior.

and a massive amount of people for any number of reasons. There has been a huge outcry because many police depts use forfeiture to supplement their budgets.

Besides, mortgages are for little people. Manafort was a 1-percenter.

Regardless, the properties and other assets become the property of the Justice Department. It's a wonderful irony that in getting Manafort's plea agreement and seizure of assets, Robert Mueller has paid for his investigation thus far.
