He is already at risk for impeachment for perjury in his Senate Judiciary testimony. He runs a serious risk of adding more counts of perjury.

If he withdraws his name now, he can work out his days on the Circuit Court - not a bad gig, where he can do a lot of damage with his extreme views. If he persists and is confirmed, he may face impeachment. If he persists and is not confirmed, it is almost certain he will be impeached.

The smart move at this point is to complain about the "witch hunt" and withdraw.
