1. Oh, you mean the guy they found at least four good jobs for but he won't move?

Or can't? Well, too bad I guess for him.

Jennifer Wedel said her husband has gotten calls from around the United States. The White House contacted some of the companies on the Wedels' behalf, she said.

"We had the head guy from Intel call us and basically said, 'If you move to New York, we'll get you a job.' ... It kind of gets me teary-eyed, because I wish we could," Jennifer Wedel said.

Darin Wedel turned down the offer from Intel as well as three other out-of-state jobs and one in Austin because his custody agreement does not allow him to move away from his daughter's mother, who lives in the area.

I don't mean to sound cold, but if you insist on staying in Fort Worth, Texas, and want to remain a semi-conductor engineer, your job prospects are probably slim. It has NOTHING to do with H1-B visas. If he wanted one of those good jobs, he could re-negotiate his custody agreement and, say, get the daughter during the summer.

This woman was suspicious from the beginning. Ms. Wedel was the one who (racistly) asked the president to dance a jig. Feh.

2. The point is that there is no shortage of workers. There is a shortage of jobs.

The Wedel's live in one of the top ten metropolitan areas in the country, Dallas/Fort Worth. If Wedel cannot find a job in Dallas, there is no shortage of workers. There is a shortage of jobs.
