Who gets the tariff money collected? It is a tax with a different spelling.

Who gets the tariff money collected? It is a tax with a different spelling.

Whether it be the direct consumer or the company buying supplies, the tariffs wind up costing us more.

Who gets the money? The treasury? Special programs?

Does it pay for tax cuts for billionaires?

I'd like to know too if tariffs are paid at the docks by incoming ships and to, or are the markup on the goods which makes them less competitive the tariff?

to be spent according to the budget Congress approved.
It is nothing but a tax on middle and lower income people. Wealthy likely do not care if the cost of a washing machine increases by 25% but middle and lower income people do care.
The tax cuts have increased the deficit so they have to make it up somewhere - us.
