Google News headlines

Does anyone understand exactly how Google News sets up its headline page? Particularly in relation to politics?

For the last couple of hours, the number one story is "Aides Quietly Stunned by Trump's Respectful Handling of Kavanaugh Accuser" by CNN. Does anyone really believe this is the top story?

During the 2016 general election, I routinely saw minuscule publications making the top stories and I realized that there was a great deal of manipulation going on.

If anyone understands how this is manipulated, please share the secret!

CNN online last Saturday put Friday pm's stunning Manafort plea deal story in small print lower than their story about Greg Craig headlined "Fed prosecutors weigh charges against Democratic powerbroker in Manafort linked probe"- even though Craig is a minor figure unknown to most people with no important link to Mueller probe and his foreign work had no connection to Dem politics.

CNN's lead story is now "Trump:Why didn't accuser call FBI" -(36 years ago) -so that will probably be googles next lead

I know a bit about SEO, AdWords, AdSense etc, but surely there is someone who has figured out how these stories are being manipulated to reach the top levels.

Fully appreciating that truth is the best, it still doesn't hurt to be able to highlight "our" truth as opposed to "their" truth, since we are closer to reality!
