@Lawrence

Sen McConnell just said he has the votes to confirm Kavanaugh.

McConnell doesn't lie about that.

That means the "undecided" Republican senators are lying.

That means they will not give Dr Ford a fair hearing.

That cold feeling that comes over you when you realize something really, really bad is coming true that you did not want to believe.

The entire United States government - from the usurper in the Executive Branch to both houses of the bicameral Legislative being AWOL to the fully politicized and illegitimate SCOTUS - has become a total fraud. There are no standards or separation of powers any longer...there are only partisans and no patriots left.

Turn out the lights on the failed American experiment...1789 - 2018, we ALMOST made it to 240 years before it completely unravelled...at this point, I no longer believe the egg can be unscrambled, we are heading headlong into a dissolution of the current union before 2050, possibly as early as 2020.

No ethics.
No restraint.
No compromise.
No empathy.
No point.

Blow it all up....it is time to consider what replaces the status quo and how to dissolve the union without nuclear exchanges. Turn out the lights, the party ended with the usurpation of Merrick Garland's seat and is complete with the installation of a Banana Republican SCOTUS with Kavanaugh. With no functional branch of government, the only thing left is to watch the wholesale sell off of assets and rise of the American oligarchy to heights last seen in Russian.

Congratulations to Putin. He won.

I am going to vote as I always have, and straight ticket Democrat as well, especially in light of the fact that it very well may be the last national election I can participate in, but IF Democrats retake the House (we're NOT getting the Senate too, but to each their own fantasies) what do you really think is going to change?

Control of the chairpersons and subpoena power may offer better tools of resistance, but the GOP really is brazen enough to just not care, Trump already decries the FBI, the Justice Department and the Media as "cancer", "corrupt" and "enemies of the people" with absolutely ZERO consequences. Those statements alone should have shut down the government until he resigned in shame, and that is barely the tip of the iceberg of asshattery and criminality at the heart of the existing government.

Extreme was holding open a SCOTUS seat for 293 days without ever granting the sitting president's nominee a single MEETING or hearing. Extreme was ram rodding Kavanaugh, a political hack and water carrier, into the next opening without allowing full disclosure of his record or vetting of his veracity or even an FBI investigation of charges of attempted rape. Extreme was Citizen's United and Bush's wars and crashing the economy and allowing the banksters to skip out on ANY responsibility for harming MILLIONS of people 10 years ago. Extreme is the continued executions of POC and unarmed citizens by the police state. Extreme is the lack of any coherent strategy for climate change impact mitigation and resource stewardship (soil? air? water?). Extreme was sitting by idly while entire generations of Americans were put into wage slavery by low paying jobs and enormous education debts. Extreme is accepting that anything at all since November 2016 has been the least bit legitimate.

Defeatist is thinking that if only we can get a few committee chairpersons and congressional hearings and an impeachment spectacle that won't EVER get 2/3rd of the Senate to convict EVER, that everything else will return to normal or get better. Defeatist is accepting the Republicans as worthy of being called fellow citizen instead of being called by their rightfully deserved prisoner ID numbers.

They stole the Presidency...TWICE in the last 18 years.
They lied us into forever war...TWICE in the last 18 years.
They stole the majority of the SCOTUS for a generation...
They do not care how many die as long as their paymasters get tax breaks and their zealots get just enough red meat to stay frothy...

The current government is compromised, period. Taking control of a broken car moments before a crash won't stop impact. We are going to hit the wall at full speed and nothing is going to stop that eventuality from here. We have passed the point of no return.

to install an unbreakable and unelected government by the elite and gaming the Supreme Court is their first move. After that they will go after the Constitution to codify their control by irreparably changing it with amendments that role back all safety nets and right of the 99%, including civil rights.

They even sacrifice control of Congress.

Collins/Murkowski are women, but they're THUGLICANS just like their male counterparts DR. Ford was never going to get a fair hearing. ALL of their minds are already made up.

These SCOTUS thefts were planned years ago by yertle et al.

No one should be shocked. THUGLICANS have shown you who they really are for years. Dems better wake up who don't know this and recognize the truth. Sure Flake, Corker "disagreed" with their president 🙄 But somehow they always fell in line behind him though 🤔

This GOP is truly tRump & putin's party being run from russia. FLATT OUT. HOPEFULLY, Dems will remember to remind folks of that. Dems who haven't better grow a damn spine vs these russian thuglicans, and Dems who don't normally vote, better get their asses out there there and vote or risk us all here in the USA being under russian rule.
