Oh, this is just a HUGE bombshell about Mark Judge, from the New Yorker article:

After seeing Judge’s denial, Elizabeth Rasor, who met Judge at Catholic University and was in a relationship with him for about three years, said that she felt morally obligated to challenge his account that “ ‘no horseplay’ took place at Georgetown Prep with women.” Rasor stressed that “under normal circumstances, I wouldn’t reveal information that was told in confidence,” but, she said, “I can’t stand by and watch him lie.” In an interview with The New Yorker, she said, “Mark told me a very different story.” Rasor recalled that Judge had told her ashamedly of an incident that involved him and other boys taking turns having sex with a drunk woman. Rasor said that Judge seemed to regard it as fully consensual. She said that Judge did not name others involved in the incident, and she has no knowledge that Kavanaugh participated. But Rasor was disturbed by the story and noted that it undercut Judge’s protestations about the sexual innocence of Georgetown Prep. (Barbara Van Gelder, an attorney for Judge, said that he “categorically denies” the account related by Rasor. Van Gelder said that Judge had no further comment.)

Another woman who attended high school in the nineteen-eighties in Montgomery County, Maryland, where Georgetown Prep is located, also refuted Judge’s account of the social scene at the time, sending a letter to Ford’s lawyers saying that she had witnessed boys at parties that included Georgetown Prep students engaging in sexual misconduct. In an interview, the woman, who asked to have her name withheld for fear of political retribution, recalled that male students “would get a female student blind drunk” on what they called “jungle juice”—grain alcohol mixed with Hawaiian Punch—then try to take advantage of her. “It was disgusting,” she said. “They treated women like meat.”

Which is why I did the above in all caps and all those exclamation points.

Reminds of some of the used textbooks I'd look at that would have fewer sentences unhighlighted by the previous owner than highlighted. "You failed that class, I bet," I'd say to myself, "Because you have no concept of what's important and what isn't."

When the Rs state that "boys behave badly when they are that age", it doesn't really carry much weight. Describe the bad behavior, however, and it's a whole other story.

This Kavanaugh fellow is the embodiment of every asshole I’ve ever met in my life. Take every self-entitled jerk I’ve ever had the misfortune of running into and blend them all together and this turd would pop out. “Those feared football players” - if there is any justice in the universe these bastards are curled up in a ball in the back of their closets, quaking with the knowledge that a lifetime of doing shitty things to people is just about to catch up with them.

Fuck them hard and irrevocably and to hell with their ilk.

It has a group of Jesuit priests in it, and a group of boys at Catholic boys' schools who are taught by Jesuit priests, on one side. On the other side is a group of weeping small children and girls. The priests and boys are pointing toward the group of emotionally damaged children and girls, saying, "this never happened, and we never lie. If you say one word, we will destroy you. Meanwhile, stop trying to ruin our spotless reputations."

This is totally mind-blowing. I'm old enough to remember the Anita Hill persecution. Watching some of the file footage of that dismal episode, I started cringing all over again. She was publicly humiliated in those hearings. They're dead meat on this committee next week if they even TRY to put Dr. Ford through anything even remotely close to that. It was so degrading to watch, and a marvel to watch at the same time - as far as how poised Anita Hill remained, throughout that ordeal. I was embarrassed FOR her, though, at how all those men on that male-only Senate Committee were such flaming assholes!!!

I wonder if Joe Biden ever apologized to her for short sheeting that investigation and not bothering to call in several other women who came forward to buttress her testimony. I hope he has, but I don't remember if he did. He sure owes her one.

She never stuttered or stumbled or hesitated or looked a bit scared of them. She was calm and dignified throughout all of it. They thought when they demanded salacious details about what Thomas would do and say that it would embarrass her. She answered questions about him talking about public hair in the coke and said that he called his penis Long Dong Silver.

But you’re right that it was cringeworthy. But it was the panel who looked bad, not Anita Hill.

This monster needs to lose his job and be charged with rape. He needs to be forced to take personal responsibility for his actions. This is so wrong I couldn't read through the whole article in the new yorker. It reminded me of the interview with sandusky. There's only so much someone with a conscience can stomach.

There are women across the country who can't run for office because they partied a little too hardy in their youth, and to think of men like this who think their past of treating people like meat should be no problem, and other elite white males agreeing wholeheartedly. Talk about the old boys network.

that maybe I could run for City Council or something, but no...I cringed when I thought about my party days. I certainly didn't hurt anyone, but I had a good time, and I was pretty sure some people would come out of the woodwork to embarrass me about those days. And I was pretty sure that I wouldn't get elected because of that.

The gall of the elite to regard such a past as Kavanaugh's as nothing to blink at....that ticks me off to no end.

I think trump and the kgop have set themselves up to fail and insure the Democrats retake both the House and the Senate back, and with trump and the kgop helping them every day by talking and tweeting themselves into another corner they can't get out of. kavanaugh is a liar and corrupt, and a sexual predator. Somehow those boys never had to pay for all the shit they caused in other people's lives. And now they've grown up to become asshole Republicans, and the same shit is still going on. We've seen ample evidence that Kavanaugh should never have become a judge at all, let alone a SCOTUS justice!
