If Kavenaugh Confirmation Fails No Time For GOP To Find New Candidate.

Very likely this confirmation is the last chance before November election to confirm another candidate.

Even if Democrats win control of the Senate in November the Republicans will still be in the majority until January.

Like another idiotic tax cut. That won't be easy and having no the senate tied up for weeks won't help .

Hopefully some defeated Repub Senators would be so pissed at Trump that they would refuse to support his nominations. All it would take is 2 of them.

After the midterms, it will be a lot harder to sneak someone in that does not pass muster with the voters.

And right now the voters are pissed.

If they do back off of Slimy K, they will just make sure to ram the next one through during lame duck(especially if they lose the senate), and they wont leave enough time between the start of hearings and final confirmation vote for a restroom break.

Would you put it past them to pick the next person on their list and for Grassley to say we don't need confirmation hearings because we just had them? How can the country survive if the seat remains open? Garland who?

Part of their strategy was to push this hard to energize their base. They probably calculated that would get more by that than the few additional votes they would lose by standing by him With this latest they may decide for Kavanaugh to withdraw and then push the line that Democrats derailed a "honorable man". That should work for their base don't you think?

Democrats need to show video of repepublicans like Hatch, Graham, Grassley and hit them for lack of judgement, lack of moral courage, lack of character. The GOP is/was willing to risk putting a man accused of attempted rape on the Supreme Court.

is a bad idea.

If they dont regain their majority on the SCOTUS, they can kiss their agenda goodbye. They loose the guaranteed ability to protect the president. They loose the guaranteed ability to protect election interference. In short, it puts everything they have taken so far into jeopardy.

Scorpions backed into a corner. Expecting them to act with decorum, decency, or within rules or customs is a bad idea.
