News saying the key-lock security system had been having problems.
Doors that tennants thought were locked, apparently weren't due to a malfunction.

It makes me ill to think she has an alibi.

...DPD isn't going to expend their political capital on this shoot, it's far too controversial and a veritable no-brainer. They'll throw Guyger to the wolves (and rightfully so) and keep their powder dry for the next, less "obvious" OIS...

Regardless of whether she was mistaken, it is self-evident that she did not take due care to be certain she was at her own apartment before using deadly force against the person in it.

It's okay to make a mistake and walk into the wrong apartment. But if you are going to be shooting someone in it, then you ought to be certain that you have not entered the wrong apartment.

What did she do when arrested that was worse than shooting a man in his own home?

without everybody getting all upset! What's America coming to? If this keeps up, we might actually be forced to do more about school shootings than just offer our heartfelt thoughts and prayers!"
