get 7-8 rec, and a couple of replies. Someone more popular than me posts the same thing a couple of hours later and gets 45-50 recs and 2 dozen replies.

I always ascribe it to my time of posting is out of sync with the majority of DU. I could create a conspiracy that someone is stealing my posts, but that seems to be thin-skinned. I'm not on DU for any kind of notoriety, so I don't care when that happens. I feel I'm taking the healthier path.
