The Republican senators and pundits will love it and lap it up. They'll try to pretend Dr. Ford was weak and vague in comparison. Everything we saw with our own eyes will be interpreted in reverse.

There is incredible advantage to going second. That's why the party that has the second political convention always benefits so greatly in the polls.

If we fail to understand this dynamic, we are fooling ourselves. No question Dr. Ford is telling the truth but the format favors Kavanaugh. I was emphasizing the same thing to my family members in 1991 when we watched the Anita Hill testimony. Many people were saying it was over when she finished.
