Can ABA call for investigation of Kavanaugh, maybe put his law license on the line?

I don’t have a clue and am wondering if some of the legal eagles here can tell us.

It would have to be the bar association of Maryland and/or the D.C. Circuit Court. no_hypocrisy Sep 2018 #13

just not (directly) not over having a license to practice law. Arizona Summit Law School ring any bells?

(Indirectly it can also impact obtaining a law license, because many states do not permit students from unaccredited slaw schools to sit for the bar exam.)

I was thinking more along the lines of consequences for bad behavior by individuals.

And since being a licensed attorney (or have ever even attended law school) is not a requirement to sit on the Supreme Court - even if a bar complaint was filed in a state in which he is licensed, he could still be confirmed and take a seat on the Supreme Court.

Law licenses are controlled by the state agency that issues the license, and each agency has a specific process for reviewing lawyer misconduct.

ABA is a damned prestigious organization, seems to me, and for them to hold what I guess was an emergency meeting tonight to take their vote and make their statement, well - it means SOMETHING, I think!!!

The state bar association in that state can pull his license just as Arkansas did
pull Clinton's. Yes he can serve on the court without a license, but he would
lose his credibility completely.
