...They're all going to end up voting for this scumbag anyway, they're just trying to appear as if they actually give a fuck. McConnell could say no, the FBI could say no, the shit could never happen, but in the meantime, these three will say "Well, we tried but..."

I'll believe differently when I see differently but I'm not holding my breath.

7. They'll probably give him a "limited" FBI investigation to cover themselves and Kavanaugh.

I thought they might pull this. I would be surprised if they insist on a vote without the investigation.

...or if pertinent witnesses refuse to cooperate. A week isn't a lot of time to issue and enforce subpoenas, etc.

I wish I had a good feeling about this but I don't. It's a ploy...

It doesn't look like he has any agreement for anything. It's a yes vote on the question before the committee. They can just ignore the rest of the discussion and take it straight to a vote. Unless the question was changed, it is what it was.
