but if it isn't, plausible grounds for investigation of impeachment have been enumerated. And why Republicans want to put the country through that, and obliterate any remaining political careers they have, is beyond me.

from republic talking heads is that if they fail to confirm him, in spite of their majority in congress, republic voters will stay home in droves during mid-terms. Does that make sense? Who knows!

Exactly. If McConnell and GOP leadership can't shove this through, these base members are threatening to walk away in the midterms.

I think more women are pissed than that.

But Republicans have evidently decided that getting Kav on the court is worth losing the mid-terms and thus the majority.
