(4,533 posts)I think Brett would have been admitted anyway. He was no George W Bush who didnt have a prayer without the legacy. Yale gives the most weight, by a lot, to top grades at schools they know from experience are rigorous, whose prior graduates with top grades have excelled at Yale. It is a much better predictor than SAT scores, statistically proven better. Georgetown prep is one of those schools. And I think Brett was valedictorian. But he did get a bit of a nudge from grandpa, he lied about that.
