Democrats should have threatened boycott once investigation was suspected to be rigged

When word got out that the FBI investigation was being rigged, Feinstein wrote a public letter to FBI asking Director Wray to explain in writing once and for all the actual scope of the investigation and the exact directive it was following. At the time there were conflicting reports.

AFAIK, Wray never replied.

But Democrats just waited until the "investigation" completed before calling it a sham. But it was too late. The Republicans had their "cover" and Democrats unwittingly participated in and provided legitimacy to the sham investigation.

When Feinstein wrote her letter she should have added:

1. Need for response in 24h. If no reply, declare the investigation rigged and threaten boycott it. Dems won't even bother reading the rigged report and won't partcipate further.

2. If Wray responds and gives an unsatisfactory reply, again declare the investigation is rigged and threaten to boycott it similarly.

Once the Dems threatened to boycott it, call out Flake, Collins & Murkowski. Say that the the "investigation" is a sham as Wray either refused to reply or gave a reply that clearly shows it to be a sham. Ask the three holdout Republicans to either support a real investigation with an adequate scope spelled out in writing by Director Wray or call them out as collaborators in a sham investigation and Democrats walk away

Once Dems boycott, they will have nothing further to do with the nomination. All Dems go home and boycott further votes. Let Republicans vote 51-0, whatever.

The point is to make clear that the investigation was rigged as early as possible rather than wait for it to complete. I'm not claiming a threat to boycott can stop the nomination! But what I'm saying is don't participate in an obvious sham.

as soon as Graham hijacked the hearings and went over 5 minutes if not before. He bailed on any agreements made up to that point. He cut in because they were losing. I realize it was a WTF moment but. wtf?

Quadtetra, since you are interested, why not learn how congress works? Read a book.

Learn why you should oppose Republicans. Go volunteer at the nearest immigrant detention center (they're all over the nation) or almost any other place serving exploding numbers newly in trouble.

5. Trump used the FBI

And this looks more like a planned event from corrupt trump and the gop, and all their phony insisting an investigation had to be done first was just smoke and mirrors from them all to use for cover claiming he was ok, when they all knew their wasn't an investigation at all. trump prevented one from being done. Just another corrupt scam being used against the American people from trump and the gop. Look for trump now to step p all attacks on anyone in his way now, even republicans in Congress, who he'll screw over too first chance he gets. Putin is winning with the gop helping him. Criminalizing (falsely) others coming soon from trump now that he has his loyalist on the court now for protection. trump will threaten women more now, and incite others to also, and everyone who opposes him in any way. Putin used this to hurt his opposition and still does with his kangaroo courts he's set up for himself to use. I hope all women should come forward exposing all gop members who have , or have had affairs , or abortions, or any illicit affairs publicly now on them. Especially women who've been assaulted , abused , or used by trump.

Flake, etc claimed to want a "real" investigation. Well let's have Wray declare it in writing. If he won't, then call out Flake to either join with Dems to call for one in writing or call him out for fake theatrics.

Maybe he caves and he and others insist on a legit investigation too. Or he refuses. But then at least you've made Flake reveal himself as a fraud from the start.
