(98,883 posts)are referring to? The OP was referring to those who refused to vote for the Democratic nominee. You sure didn't make it clear if it was the inappropriate language used to those who didn't vote for the Democratic nominee, or those who didn't vote for Democratic nominee, and that was why I inquired
Whether right or wrong, language sometimes gets rougher than some would like, but are not offended.
It is simple as that, it wasn't clear in the context, and if you view some of the responses in this sub-thread they are focused on the Democratic nominee, not the vulgarity, so perhaps you context wasn't as clear as you would like to believe

(24,486 posts)or who voted for a third party candidate. They may not, likely would not or are ashamed of admitting it now, but they're here.
When a rational person is presented with a perceived choice between bad and worse, and it will with certainty be one or the other, they do what they can to make sure that worse does not prevail.
There is no way that Clinton and Trump were equally bad because she never would have nominated someone like Kavanaugh to the Supreme Court.
None of this ever needed to happen, yet America will suffer for it.
As long as we have people on the Left who insist on making the Democratic Party tent as small and pure as possible, who disparage and put down those who have counted themselves as Democrat for years as "DINOs" or "Republican Lite" because they are not sufficiently Liberal enough, then the GOP will prevail.
The simple fact is that there are states and districts where a Liberal Democrat will never be elected but a conservative one might. But that conservative Democrat counts towards the Democrats controlling whatever body they are elected to serve so Democrats can set the agenda for that body. I don't know why this is such a difficult concept to grasp.
A whole lot of those who left here for JPR come back to stir things up and try and cause divisions. Every election right wing trolls show up, and probably some Russian trolls. The JPR crowd that left were great at pushing the "purity" meme here, and were always playing the "doom and gloom" card. I am pretty sure we will a lot more of those kinds of post in the next few weeks.

But I did have "Clinton fatigue" and that's maybe MY fault for falling into the line, but if a solid Democrat would not be excited HOW would moderates and indys be excited?
I live in Pennsylvania, one of those blue states she HAD TO HAVE. I can't remember many good commercials and the ones that ran were so lame. She did have a commercial or a "talk" really late in the campaign where she just spoke to people and THAT worked. It was the first time I heard Hillary just talk to us like people, not potential voters, but people. And SHE KICKED ASS. But by then, I think it was too late.
That said I cast my vote for HRC. I am proud of that vote and if a few others had followed suit our nation would not be barreling toward fascism today. After a confirmation process where women all but slit their wrists, letting their stories of sexual trauma run like rivers of blood through the Capitol, the Senate still voted to confirm Judge Brett M. Kavanaugh to the Supreme Court. With the exception of Senator Lisa Murkowski of Alaska, all the women in the Republican conference caved, including Senator Susan Collins of Maine, who held out until the bitter end.
These women are gender traitors, to borrow a term from the dystopian TV series The Handmaids Tale. Theyve made standing by the patriarchy a full-time job. The women who support them show up at the Capitol wearing Women for Kavanaugh T-shirts, but also probably tell their daughters to put on less revealing clothes when they go out.
This is in part why I think Joe Kennedy III is the best candidate for the DEMS in 2020. I love him and I'm a realist.

They don't care about the people who have died because of their vote in 2016 They don't care about how many will die, because they think that by letting the Republicans win it'll destroy the Democratic party and bring on the revolution. They want the bust part of their slogan, not caring that those who will DIE are minorities, those who traditionally vote Democratic. What matters is that people realize these zealots exist and always have throughout the history of elective politics.
These dysfunctional zealots are mercifully small in numbers and never do take over and lead their nation to a shiny new world, of course. Instead, era after era they do their best to undermine the left-wing majority party and usually the "best" they can manage is to throw elections to right wing forces, while claiming only the highest of ideals. As here,.
Jim Lane
(11,175 posts)Before the election, when it was widely believed that Trump couldn't possibly win, there were posts on DU addressed to those who had anything negative to say about Clinton: "I don't care how you vote."
Now, with the benefit of hindsight, people do care -- enough to express their opinions over and over.
Perhaps, along with or possibly even in lieu of calling them "assfucks", some lessons might be drawn for the future.
wundermaus
(1,673 posts)You would have a better sense of civility both to DU members and citizens in general with different points of view within the Democratic party. I have been a member of the Democratic Party since 1972 and a member of this forum since 2006.
Saying "Fuck every one of you assfucks" in a public forum to members of the Democratic party leaves no access to meaningful dialog or discussion.
In 2016 I wanted to vote for Bernie as a Democrat but the ranking members of the Democratic party subverted that process. Bernie was the better choice and in hindsight, analysis has proven that Bernie was the candidate most likely to win. To say the Republican party is corrupt is only half the story. The Democratic Party subverted our choice with a corrupt and predetermined anointment of Clinton.
Progressives were motivated and mobilized to win with Bernie. The democratic party is not like the Republican party but they both fall victim to the same corrupting forces. Admit the possibility that the progressive members of the Democratic party were ostracized by the established Democratic Party's power structure instead of embracing us as contributing members of our common objectives of social, economic, and political process.
The tone of your post is divisive, polarizing, vulgar, and ultimately destructive. Stop it. With that sort of toxic rhetoric, you manifest the very claim you blame others here - it didn't matter who won in 2016.
Now is the time to put our differences aside as Democrats and eliminate the corruption that infests both parties.
For the love of all that we hold sacred, we need to watch out each other, so you may want to start by removing your knife from my back.
