Racist freak objects to black bagger, gets kicked out, files lawsuit

BIG SANDY -- A Hawkins man is claiming his civil rights and religious freedom were violated earlier this year when a black man sacked his groceries and a Big Sandy grocery store owner banned the customer from the business.

DeWitt R. Thomas filed a federal lawsuit in July against Keith Langston, owner of Two Rivers Grocery & Market.

According to the lawsuit filed in U.S. District Court in Tyler, Thomas entered the market on March 5 to buy food.

He stated in a nine-page, hand-written lawsuit that he told the grocery sacker, a black man, “Wait a minute, don’t touch my groceries. I can’t have someone negroidal touch my food. It’s against my creed.”

Thomas claimed the cashier was “perplexed” by his request and yelled at him to take his items and leave.

Thomas said his religious beliefs are based on Vedism, which he said encompasses Hinduism.

“Vedism translates into knowledge. I am not this way because I am ignorant. Ignorance is the enemy,” he said.

Thomas said he has not broken any laws and was exercising his religious freedom and the rights he has been given.

I guess he is just trying to follow his holy book

Read the whole part on that. Like the "sovereign citizen" business, it reeks of wingnut Faux-constitutional legalism trying to justify their pet cause (de facto segregation for this guy, not paying taxes for the SCers).

When anthropological scientists are looking at skulls or bones they will say negroid, caucasoid and the such. So you can go forward with something being negroidal, I have heard that used quite a bit actually. It's racialized but stated.

A black Teabagger. LOL! The kid should sue the asshole personally for his discrimination. And to claim religion as a defense is ridiculous. We can expect more of this religious defense for years to come. This is why church and state should be separate.

I had a g/f who worked at a hospital for the elderly. They had 2 dishwashers. One for the Jewish patients, and one for all others. I can't believe that is still going on. Religion is just a mind fuck IMO. It doesn't deserve any rights that go above the law.

non-Jews. Many Orthodox Jews DO maintain two seperate machines, as utensils and dishes used for meat and dairy are not to be mixed, according to Kosher law. I happen to be a Reform Jew, which means we didn't bother with all of that crazy stuff, but some insist on maintaining old traditions.
