CBS/YouGov Senate polls
TEXAS
Cruz (R) 50%
ORourke (D) 44%
ARIZONA
Sinema (D) 47%
McSally (R) 44%
TENNESSEE
Blackburn (R) 50%
Bredesen (D) 42%
NEW JERSEY
Menendez (D) 49%
Hugin (R) 39%
No doubt the Tennessee poll is the most glaring of all these. Bredesen should not have been so timid regarding Kavanaugh. That clearly has hurt him the past couple of weeks. Will see if can recover. Doubtful in such a red state. As far as Cruz, he continues to have a close but solid lead. Seat highly unlikely to filp. The only realistic pickup opportunities are Arizona and Nevada. That however will not be enough to win the Senate with the ND seat lost. I would consider it a victory if the Senate remained 51-49 after the elections. Just a tough cycle for Democrats regarding the Senate.

(1,580 posts)This Kavanaugh thing has given R's something to rally around and they have had a bump from it. Probably won't last. Long run is Dems are ANGRY. Will hurt R's especially in the House races.

(33 posts)He should of just said YES from the start. It really was the easy answer in the state he was running in and that he would actually never have to actually vote YES. He shot himself in the foot with that one and very well could cost him the seat. As far as House, not doubt it will help them in suburban districts. However, in regards to the Senate, it will hurt D's when you consider the Senate races are being fought in light red to ruby red states.

(33 posts)Fox News had him down 5 and this CBS/Yougov poll down 8. In polling, you look for trends. He was once leading this race just less than a month ago. I think it is two factors: how he handled Kavanugh, and the fundamentals of the state. As the race gets closer to election day, the fundamentals of the state to take over. The opposite we are seeing in NJ.

(33 posts)He waffled all over the place when asked about whether he supports Kavanaugh. That hurt him big time in the polls.

(37,610 posts)It was part of the plan having a fairly untouchable Senate majority in place to solidify their regime. Now, they must break California to make it permanent.
Obviously, the roots of this have been in the works since at least 2008 when McDriedappledoll infamously said, "Obama will only serve one term."
I emphasize, Trump was NOT part of the plan. They're working around him.

(4,379 posts)Can we please keep crazy fuckers out of our senate? Anybody here from Tennessee? Are the people in your State fucking stupid? Blackburn is nuts.

(33 posts)She is a complete lunatic. For those unhappy with Bredesen because of his support of Kavanugh (which he should of made clear of weeks ago), get used to saying Senator Blackburn (I just threw up in my mouth).

(21,625 posts)Other polls I've seen are within two points or so.
On the plus side, that's Menendez's biggest lead that I've seen. Last week one poll had him winning by two or three points. Also, I think McSally loses in Arizona.

(36,631 posts)Coming out in support of Kavanaugh is Repug-lite. It would be interesting to see how much enthusiasm Bredesen killed with that revelation.
