One of the victims of today's shootings in College Station, TX was a close friend of mine.

Chris Northcliffe was a kind and gentle man. He and I instantly connected through our love of Democratic politics. We first met when I organized an opposition demonstration to our republican representative's townhall meeting last summer. He was a champion of the progressive cause and a wonderful human being.
