(6,280 posts)... are only using the criteria of the earlier Republican Joe Scarborough. They choose to ignore the fact that most days they are raking drump and company over the coals. It is my belief that we need people of the republican ilk to speak out against this phony president. If only liberals speak out against him people will just say well, they're liberals after all. We expect that, but when people like Morning Joe, Steve Schmidt, Ana Navarro, Etc speak out, it might just penetrate some on the right who would never have considered there was something wrong with the madman. I don't understand why anyone would prefer these people speaking out in favor of trump and for them to "show their true colors" to satisfy their need to have someone on the right to bash. You didn't have to like them then, and you don't have to like them now, but every punch they throw against der trumpenfuhrer and Company is a point for the left. I'll take it.

(45,456 posts)From Huffpost back in July 2017:
A few days later, CNN reported that MSNBC officials were concerned about Scarboroughs friendship with Trump and his increasingly favorable coverage of the candidate. According to CNN, MSNBC insiders called Scarboroughs admiration for Trump over the top and unseemly. The Washington Post observed that Trump received a tremendous degree of warmth from the show, and that his appearances on the show, in person and over the phone, often felt like a cozy social club.
That coziness was caught on tape during an MSNBC town hall with Trump in New York that Scarborough and Brzezinski hosted in February 2016. An unaired clip of banter between Brzezinski and Trump in-between segments revealed the two of them colluding about what questions shed ask him. Nothing too hard, Mika, Trump says. OK, she responded.
Even after Trumps most disgusting and troublesome traits were revealed to the entire country throughout the campaign his abuse of women, his attacks on Latinos, immigrants, Muslims, and people with disabilities, his profound ignorance of basic issues and government policy, and the corruption and scandals surrounding Trump University and the Trump foundation Scarborough (and to a lesser extent Brzezinski) continued to lend Trump their support.

He's not a trump sympathizer now and those same people who listened and took him seriously then just may listen to him and take him seriously now.
Drump: "Returning the bromance favor, in January 2016 Trump talked about Scarborough with Boston talk radio host Howie Carr. Hes a great guy, and he has a great show"
I'll bet he doesn't say that about Scarborough now. More likely just the opposite. Advantage - Democrats.
I've already stated that you may not have liked him then, and you don't have to like him now, but at this point in time, every negative thing he utters about Trump is to the left's advantage. There are plenty of trump supporters out there to focus on, but to waste time and energy focusing on a person who is now saying the same thing the left is about the Imposter in the White House is anti productive.

(3,335 posts)Trump's claims for how much the Saudi contract was for and how many US jobs it would create kept changing by the hour which was the best proof to date of just how much of a liar he is and how you can't believe anything that he says. But here it was compiled in one neat little package. I'm sure it would even be an eye opener for Republicans to see how much his lies change from hour to hour and person to person, over relatively short periods of time.

Surely he or Mika have said something frustrating!
