And Hitler's very purposeful retribution for the 1918 German surrender -- by recreating the scene in the Compiegne Forest to accept France's surrender in June 1940 -- comes even closer to the point. The former victors are forced to submit to the superior power of the foe they had vanquished -- as we believed we had permanently beaten Russia in the Cold War. Not that any historical condition is ever permanent.

I'm not sure Rump can jet around so freely, especially if those indictments have anything to do with Russian collusion.
