(11,024 posts)And I remember hearing about a caravan of children during Obama's presidency.

(11,885 posts)It wouldn't be surprising to hear he wants to bomb this caravan group either. He does this to intimidate others with , so in his position he can can ignore everything and do whatever he wants to use to hurt them now with. He's a violent person , so he'll turn violent eventually , and even against people here in this country. He's insane and senile.
TreasonousBastard
(43,049 posts)There's already enough bullshit going around about Soros sponsoring the caravan, and we don't need to start our own.
I have no doubt somebody in the mal-administration thought of such a false flag operation, but I doubt they have anyone who could pull it off.

(25,251 posts)'some people say' works for Trump and the Repugs - why can't the Dems use the same tactic in return.
Some people say that the Repugs and Trump will move to overturn Roe vs Wade as they have stacked SCOTUS to do that.

(13,571 posts)I don't know to what extent.
It might just take a few notices posted in Honduras. "Come to America for jobs, for safety"
But I have also noticed that the people don't look like traditional refugees of the world. They all seem to have pretty good shoes, and adequate clothing that is not worn, faded, etc. They seem to be high-spirited, singing and dancing and with plenty of energy.
Compare them to the refugees we see seeking admission in Europe. Clothing shredded, gaunt, dirty, etc.
Something's different here.
I wish a camera crew and reporters would talk to some of these people and get a deeper understanding of what's going on.

(32,084 posts)I wouldn't put it past Mushroom Dick and the GOP to pull such a stunt, but there are also many other possible reasons we're seeing what we're seeing. One of them being that many are joining them out of solidarity, and have no intention of trying to enter the US once they hit the border. There have been "caravans" of refugees making this trip for years now, so I doubt Trump is financing them. But, he could be financing the add-ons to stoke invasion fears in his cult followers. If he's actually doing that, we'll find out eventually.

(25,251 posts)It just popped in my head. I wish I was more computer savvy to be able to be able to photoshop signs like that into a picture of this caravan.

You don't think that a few months back, his "imagineers" couldn't see a caravan of immigrants as the signature event of this election?

(4,268 posts)I don't want to be "better than them" if it means losing elections, losing health care, losing clean air, losing moral standing in the world, polluting the planet and losing my rights.
So have at it "conspiracy theorists" of the left. IDGAF.
I wouldn't be surprised one bit if there was money involved to organize yet another caravan just before the midterms. I don't think it's a stretch at all. 1000 times more credible than the shit the wingers and the lovely people at Faux spews put out on a daily basis.

Reporting rumors and possibilities doesn't narrow down an event enough to make it an informational news story. But viewed as a tantalizing wish of every DU member, it's infinitely interesting.

(8,620 posts)Juan Orlando Hernandez, right wing president of Honduras, was condemned by the UN and many countries for the corrupt and fake election that re elected him in 2017. Trump was quick to recognize the election results. Similarly, Honduras moved its Embassy in Israel to Jerusalem to show solidarity with Trump. This caravan is pure political theater.
