California Judge Voting Guide

Last edited Tue Oct 23, 2018, 02:53 PM - Edit history (1)

I couldn't find much help for deciding whether to vote yes/no for specific judges.

https://judgevoterguide.com/

This is judge candidates by county.
The recommendations are skewed conservative (strict constructionists get highest ratings).

Two scales used

JUDICIAL INDEX (JI) high numbers are strict constructionists.
QUALIFICATIONS (Q) high numbers are highly qualified.

Hope it helps.

Since I didn't make it clear earlier..this guide recommends conservative judges. Assuming if you are a DUer you probably don't want to skew conservative, you want to reverse the recommendations. Obviously if you have a better source of information, great. But if you couldn't find anything better...this might be a starting point.

So there's that to consider.

Craig Alan Huey (born June 16, 1950) is an American Republican Party politician who was the Republican nominee in the redistricted 2012 66th State Assembly district election in California. Prior to that, Huey ran for Congress in the 2011 special election to replace Jane Harman.

but we were talking about Craig Huey and this guide just this morning and I jumped the gun. Sorry.

He just might be the perfect reverse barometer.

Side note: Craig Huey's name was giving me a hiccup until I sorted it out: Hugh Anthony Cregg III, known professionally as Huey Lewis, is an American singer, songwriter, and actor.

You don't have to do the opposite of the recommendations since they are the San Diego County Democratic Party's suggestions.

Leondra Kruger - YES (The guide I posted said NO to Kruger)

Associate Justices of the Court of Appeal

Joan Irion - YES (Guide said No to Irion)
Judith Haller - NO (guide said YES to Haller)
Richard Huffman - NO (guide said YES to Huffman)
Patricia Benke - NO (guide said YES to Benke)
Cynthia Aaron - YES (guide said NO to Aaron)
William Dato - YES (guide said NO to Dato)
Patricia Guerrero - YES (guide said NO to Guerrero)
Douglas Miller - NO (guide said YES to Miller)
Richard Fields - YES (guide said NO to Fields)
Art McKinster - NO (guide said YES to McKinster)
Marsha Slough - YES (guide said NO to Slough)
David Thompson - NO (Guide said Yes to Thompson)

I'm actually surprised how well voting the opposite of the guide works...
