I've heard the word "erased" used to describe Trump's transgender "policy"...

...just the stroke of a pen, and these people are "erased". A trans friend of mine says that he's already using this term to describe this "administration's" plans for him and his friends. And that he's convinced this is only the beginning--that he quite literally believes that camps and "re-education" are coming. I wouldn't be a bit shocked to see the word "erased" take on a sinister meaning, like "liquidate" or "disappeared".

I first heard of the usage from the book Boy Erased about conversion therapy. That book is now a movie which opens next month. There are probably instances of the term from much earlier times.
