Ignoring no county or area and talking to every constituent he can. I hope his strategy proves as effective as Mr. Dean's did in 2006. Hell, even if he doesn't win this race, we should have him help us strategize at the DNC for the next go around.
I cannot overstate how impressed and inspired I am by Beto's relentless and genuine optimism and enthusiasm! He is in that 1% of politicians who makes me believe that he will actually fight for all of his constituents. If there is any sense in this world, he will be a Texas senator for 12 years, and hopefully President in 2032.

I still can't imagine why ANYONE would vote for Ted Cruz over Beto!

(94,585 posts)Going into marginal Counties is admirable, and is something every good candidate does. The 50-State Strategy had to do with Party building, not campaigning.

(143 posts)I guess I got the wrong message from Mr. Dean's 50-state strategy. I interpreted it as having Democrats reach out to everyone they could everywhere they could in all 50 states.

(94,585 posts)Dean, the DNC Chair wanted to spend Party funds to build up State Party organizations nationwide, which could potentially deliver dividends through better campaign structures and candidate recruiting down the road. Emmanuel wanted to spend Party funds on winnable races to take control of the House.

(54,399 posts)I have been focusing on him from afar (as in 5000 miles from Texas). I really need to ask Howard what he thinks. I mean, I KNOW he must like what he sees, but to what extent. I don't even know if they've met. But thanks for the suggestion. I will find out.
