We must completely overwhelm the bastards at the voting booths.

Much like we did for the last legitimate President. There cannot be any question of voter intent.

I hope the Indies abandon the Rethuglicans like rats jumping off a burning ship.

It might be the only way.

5. We need to flip seats/races that are deemed to be reliably red.

I’m not talking about Beto defeating Rafael. Rather, we need wins like Idaho Senate or Texas Governor or some other high profile safe Republican seat to flip blue in order to grab attention and convince them to think about returning to reality. Even then, they would likely scream voter fraud and not learn any lessons.

If you’re expecting something like the Texas Governor or Idaho Senate to flip...it’s going to be a long night.

Even Beto winning would be an incredible, incredible accomplishment (GOTV!!!)

7. An incredible but unsurprising accomplishment the Repubs will blame on a poor candidate.

Yes, the race is emblematic of Texas’ slow march away from deep red status. Still, it’s not a shocker and that’s what we need to grab attention. All or almost all of the close Senate and Gov races going blue would help. So would a massive gain in the House (60+ seats). A Beto win on its own will not trigger change on the right.
