How is everyone feeling about the midterms?

I'm in a big, blue city of a fairly blue state, and most of my friends are on the left, so I feel like I live in a bubble. Naturally, I check the respected election ratings websites daily, and keep my eyes on the polls, but I'm interested in hearing about folks' gut feeling. Are people in your community talking about the election? Do they seem excited to vote? Think the House is guaranteed or are there doubts? Etc, etc...

Not gonna lie, I'm nervous.

It will not surprise me for a moment if we don’t take either. We just have to focus on the vote right now not results. I don’t feel optimistic at all but I just try not to think about it and let myself dwell in hope.

by 2020 SC (thomas, god forbid rgb), appeals and federal courts will be reshaped with rw federalists for decades. Enough to overturn every little legislation we put forward especially voting rights. It’s good to feel hopeful but we must also prepare for the worst.

The house is ours I think...the Senate was always a heavy lift...I begged those who couldn't stand the 'emails' to reconsider during the 2016 election...the courts the court and the courts. Now we have to hope for some GOP retirements or perhaps add some judges when we get back in power... send a message with a vote as happened in 2000 and 2016, and the other guy wins.

security is on the table...you have to stop looking at it that way. We have two options in every election most of the time. A Democrat or a Republican. And I would say that many (not saying you) have ridiculous expectations of the party. The GOP has the courts because of they show up even if they don't like the candidate ...we do that or we lose...and the consequences are dire...look at the current state of the courts. And with the margins who voted for Stein, it can be said that some progressives helped elect Trump.

AZ/NV could be pick ups for us as could TN.
ND is gone, IN and MO are close.

Most on the left are not celebrating as 2016 is not being forgotten.

We have all hands on deck in CT. Ned Lamont must win. Bob Stefanowski is going to raid the state's rainy day fund to give the rich more tax cuts.

Terrified. The thought of 2 more years of Republican rule makes me ill.

I want to flip the Senate so badly, I could spit.

But my energy level is low, I'm not campaigning, and I'm scared that there are not enough people on the ground fighting voter suppression, which is very, very powerful.

Yup, terrified.

I'm optimistic about picking up a handful of House seats, but I can also see us possibly losing one or a few Senate seats (including Heidi Heidkamp's seat), and I see the Senate as perhaps even more important for stalling Hamburglar-in-Chief's agenda, judicially speaking. Also the reports about the Brett Kavanaugh (aka. the "Beer Warrior&quot hearing boosting GOP enthusiasm are alarming. I donated some money to ActBlue.

Dems are running in individual areas with messages that are resonating like healthcare and specifically pre existing conditions.

GOP running on fear while trump has signaled the end of pre existing conditions

We where out performing on all elections in last 2 years and nothing has changed that

Hate and lies i.e. Immigration not as appealing as good healthcare.

Dems with take the house by wide margin.

Media is painting more competitive races to make dems get out and vote. No way lies and hate have run trumps numbers up to 47. Media playing to out advantage scaring our voters to gotv.

I'm suspicious of polls that give a high number for GOP support. We all know the current nightmare has caused many, many people to leave the Republican Party and go Indie. I suspect many of those who remain will be rabid, non-thinking, cult members. And just because Republican turnout is high, it just might be a chunk of them are voting for someone to reign in Tiny the Nut King.

I’m vacationing in Indiana, way out in the country. The one and only sign I’ve seen is for Donnelly. The only talk I hear about Trump is sarcastic and negative. Townsters seem to be onto his BS and pretty much make fun of him. The farmers are not happy with him at all. I keep quiet but my ears are open and once in a while I catch conversations, and so far I’ve been encouraged.

My daughter went to early vote yesterday and she was the only one there. I don’t know if that bodes well or not.

I’m very excited about how my home state of Florida is so far shaping up. Nelson and Gillum are in the lead. And in the Keys one of the republican incumbents has been very disappointing and is rumored to be replaced in November.

Of course all this speculation isn’t even worth the price of one vote, so make certain yours is heard, loudly and clearly.
