Are we underestimating the gop's capacity for pure evil in the pursuit of power?

They are capable of any act and their silence over drumph is sickening.

I just hope we can prevail when counting the votes in Nov and hope nothing ends up depending on the SCOTUS to decide if some state results are valid etc

We are teetering on the edge.

We are way way further down the path to totalitarianism than most see.

The GOP no longer cares about Democracy, if a free Democracy continues in America, the GOP would have no power.

Trump is their chosen dictator, from day 1 he has consolidated power. He's at war with the only 3 things that can stop him, law enforcement, the media, and the opposition party. He now has more control of law enforcement than any President in history and he's begun directing the FBI to start investigating his critics. He's making these bombings all about the media, he wants state controlled media.

The fact he told the FBI to investigate the mayor of San Juan and they complied is a turning point for our Democracy. Does anyone doubt that whoever runs against him in 2020 will have the FBI hounding them daily?

They are addicted to power, and their lust for it knows no boundaries. If there's even a hint that they could lose it, what's to stop them from stopping or denying the election results?

At every step, this nation has underestimated how depraved Trump is.

Put nothing past him. And when he's impeached and removed expect violence. Mark my words, when this happens Trump will say something exactly like this, "I urge every freedom loving American who supports me to take up arms and march to Washington, there is a Deep State coupe trying to remove me, your amazing elected leader, I need your help, come now, arm yourselves! The fight for America begins today!"

There was a Nation article a couple of weeks ago that pointed out that the fiasco at the border with the taking of children WAS the point. There is an element of the Trump base that LIKES this cruelty. They LIKE taking peoples health insurance away. They like imposing misery on others. It is the whole point of much of this. Foul the air so people with respiratory problems die. Remember the GOP debate when they cheered about people dying because they wouldn't get healthcare?

Being cruel IS the point.
