I haven't heard yet if they were real or fake bombs. At the very least, they were meant to be chilling intimidation. Which if you think about it is patently stupid and downright ridiculous. No amount of intimidation would ever silence the recipients. If anything, those bombs will make them more determined to resist Trumpism and his neo-Fascist follers. The sender obviously doesn't know very much about the history and record of Hillary Clinton, Barack Obama, and Maxine Waters. Barack Obama was, afterall, the guy who persistently and successfully got bin Laden. Hillary was the woman, who overcame an entrenched system that enabled disabled children to attend public schools. And Maxine Waters, well he sure picked the wrong black woman with that bomb. She is one fearsome black woman, who ain't afraid of nobody. I just hope the FBI catches this character before Joe Biden or De Niro get their hands on him. Oh my!

But, it's sounding like they were poorly-constructed to where they probably would not have gone off. Whether or not that was deliberate remains to be seen. The explosives are real. The shrapnel inside is real.
