This is based on an old Lucille Ball skit involving a strawberry pie factory. A comedy classic, to be sure, and more evidence that Lukovich is a genius.

I recollected that scene instantly and I choked up.

Luckovich has taken a famous 5 minute scene from a 1951 Lucy show, and updated it. Terrific.

One is tempted to say...ah, the good old days of comedy. Add in Red Skelton and The Smothers Brothers. And, of course, Thanks for the Memories.

Probably a solid 20+ years of reruns. It's kind of surprising that they ever stopped.

every time I see a clip in B/W I watch it. I hate it when they redo them in color...ruins them. John Wayne will always be in B/W for me. So will The Rifleman !!! And I Love Lucy. We really, really did love Lucy and Ricky and Ethel.
