Dead possum apparently left at home of official in Kara Eastman's (D-NE) campaign
By Kevin Cole
Security for the Kara Eastman congressional campaign is being tightened after someone apparently left a dead animal wrapped in plastic at the home of its finance director.
Dave Pantos said he discovered a dead possum in his driveway when he came home from work Friday night. His house, near Village Pointe, is the mailing address for Eastman's campaign, and Pantos believes the animal was left as a form of intimidation.
An Omaha police spokesman confirmed that the incident is under investigation. The Nebraska Humane Society picked up the dead possum.
Eastman, a Democrat, is seeking to represent Nebraska's 2nd District in Congress. She is running against U.S. Rep. Don Bacon, a Republican, who won the swing district seat by 1 percentage point in 2016.
