Don't overestimate "Joe Six Pack".

You know that this "Obama stole $716 billion from Medicare" is pure bullshit, but the lying SOB's that comprise today's GOP understand that they just need to repeat it and repeat it and repeat it and --- many will believe it .

Don't say that it is an "obvious" falsehood. That's all the Swift Boaters had and how did that turn out?

Much more SIMPLE rebuttal of this and other "transparent" lies is necessary.

Who is "Joe Six Pack"? pipoman Aug 2012 #1
Sorry if that was an unclear reference. It is a synonym for "everyman" or "average Joe". nt Atticus Aug 2012 #2

at least as far as politicians are concerned, they should never use that statement. It is an elitist, demeaning slur.

I chat with them about neighborhood stuff every now and then. They are usually out having a beer when I get back from walking the dog. So we talk about the kids, the trash pickup, and general goings on. They noticed my Obama sticker in 2008, and told me they were lifelong Republicans.

So, I've generally avoided political subjects.

Over the last year and a half, they have increasingly brought up politics on their own, and quite frankly they're not buying the GOP/FOX bullshit anymore.

They've given me a lot of hope for Joe Six Pack.

Remember Swiftboating John Kerry. H.L. Mencken said it best, years ago -

"Nobody ever went broke overestimating the stupidity of the American public'.
