I'm making my prediction on TX Senate Race

I’m going to give it to Beto O’Rouke. I see so much energy on his side. The rallies has been Presidential levels. I also see him getting so many cross over votes that might vote Republican on the rest of the ticket. Never in my life time have I seen a candidate work this hard for a Senate seat. Also I think he is the strongest challenger to an incumbent we’ve seen in this election cycle. A year ago I would have given it to Ted Cruz to win or even a week ago because how red Texas is. The latest poll I have seen him Beto is within 3 points.I think Tuesday we are going to see a historical upset in this race.

Lots of these machines were in the big counties and when the rumours started flying about the vote switching on the Senate race, word went out fast to vote the individual lines.

This was going on both ways, too. For some reason it only impacted the first line of the ballot.

The problem was with people moving too fast before the screen populated all the boxes and the summary would show the opposite from the original choice just on that top line.

The major advice was go slow check everything or check off all the boxes

since the election is fixed, anyway.

I am always skeptical of a low post newbie without a donation telling DUers our votes don't count.

DUers, please ignore this BS and get out and vote. Every vote counts.

Which side is more motivated. The reds aren't laying down and staying home. We also have to fight the stupid voter suppression laws.

But I have a real positive vibe about the race. If we just had to worry about the voters in the large urban centers it wouldn't even be a contest. In my neighborhood you see about 50 Beto signs to every Cruz one.

You never see people say I am a republican and voting for the Dem guy. I think most of the polls are not polling the "NEW" likely voter. There are so many new voters and people that typically don't vote cause they aren't excited or they thing their vote doesn't matter that are now excited to vote.

Plus, these days most people don't answer their phone so the people that do are the ones being polled. I imagine that is a lot of older people that would tend to vote R anyway.

I am excited and nervous at the same time.

They always voted Republican before, because that's just what they'd always done. But they can't stand Trump. And Cruz has never had effective opposition until now. Beto is like the USS Enterprise D swooping in.

I've seen a lot of energy in elections before that didn't translate into enough votes to win.

Remember that the districts are gerrymandered.

Maybe someone can correct me, but I THINK if the majority of residents in a district vote for a candidate, then the whole district counts for a candidate. It doesn't matter if a candidate gets 55% or 95% of that district. All that matters is that s/he gets the required majority to win that district. (State law governs the majority % required.)

Isn't that the way it works?

I hope Beto is bringing in metropolitan progressives and suburban independent voters in by the droves. There were no Cruz signs around my ranch up to about 5 weeks ago. Now they are everywhere. We have done everything in our little County Democratic Club to get out the vote of our progressive brethren. We still continue to canvass, call, and knock on doors. A word of caution: the right wingers around me are motivated as well. It sucks. I love the country life, but I hate country political views. I think Beto ran an excellent campaign. I talked with him when he visited our county back in August. Go Beto Go!

The energy on the ground is unlike anything I've seen before. Even Obama in 2008 doesn't compare.

The polling place near my apartment was slammed all through early voting.

I've seen so many new voters register, all Beto supporters.

And my republican parents are flipping to Beto.

I'm still being cautious, and know this is all anecdotal, but I think he's going to win.

Especially after trump attended the rally for cruz, and cruz's ad acting like he's not against Medicare , and Social Security , when he voted and they passed their tax scam bill , which took a trillion out of Medicaid, a half a trillion out of Medicare, and billions out of Social Security. McConnell already has stated they are going to cut more out of Medicare , and Social Security, and trump and cruz are all for it, no matter what cruz claims on his commercials, he'll vote to destroy both programs, and trump will sign it into law. Cruz is a liar.
