Are Republicans Really That Dense

It is very clear that R $ R policies and the Ryan Budget will screw a lot of Republicans just as bad as everyone else. We walk a lot of neighborhoods in our area for our local Demo candidate. A lot of these neighborhoods have houses that are just standard fare. And many of them are middle middle or lower middle class communities. They do not look terribly prosperous by any means. Yet we run into a lot of GOPPERS. I know that most of them are barely above water economically.

GOP policies if enacted will crush them like everyone else if those policies were to go through.

R$R are White, male, and sorta mucho-macho, and that's all that matters to these Republican voters. They can always blame the Democrats when they don't have jobs, the economy is crashed, we launch into another unfunded war, and the deficit soars beyond Bush the Lesser's level, can't they?

These American (or should I call the "Murican'ts"?) are an embarrassment to everything America has ever stood for.

And it totally confounds me!

Why is it okay with them that Romney most likely paid no taxes at all, while they are constantly complaining about the amounts that they have to pay?

Yet they don't seem to make the connection.

It's the hate that drives them. Hate of Dem's and Obama. Although there could and must be a few closeted ones. You know the ones who scream the loudest about Obama, but end up voting for him knowing it IS the better choice. But never admitting to their friends or relatives they voted for Obama.

Who would ever want to be one of those? They've been selling this to poor whites for 40 years and business has been brisk.

They are totally unpredictable. With most sane people, you can rely on them to do what is in their own best interests and the interests of their families and neighbors. These folks are like a cult. You cannot depend on them to do anything rationally.

Republicans no longer vote for their own self-interest. They haven't done so since the mid-90's. At all. They will praise and support the same candidates that raise their taxes, cut their medicare / SS, close their schools, destroy their jobs, and send their kids somewhere to die, and they do it happily and gladly...

Because they figure Democratic voters will suffer, too.

That is the single criteria considered by today's Republicans - which candidate will screw "the other guy" the worst. it doesn't matter if the republican voters get screwed just as bad, or even worse. They want people like you and me to suffer. We're quite literally "the enemy" to them now.

I can't think of a single thing to add to what you just said. Everything the modern day republican does is a case of cutting off his nose to spite his face.

So why try.
I'm having a running argument on FB about the "716B in Medicare cuts" and I simply give up at this point. Naturally the guy I'm arguing with is already on SS & Medicare. He's a local elected official (R natch) so I better shut up now or he'll give me a ticket for not mowing my lawn or something.

I've taken to more or less catalog the conservatives I know, and it's taken a while for me to figure it out and collate it down to one simple cause, but that's pretty much it.

They just place more value on individual rights than they do on the needs of society.
Our goal to success is narrowing that view, not attacking them for it.

since they are on their way to lose again (let's hope), and more and more people wake up to it, then PRopaganda backfires.
