Public Service Announcement: Ignore all exit polls.

They are, at best, incomplete and limited in value and, at worst, flawed and misleading. If anyone has any doubts, Presidents Hillary Clinton and John Kerry will likely beg to differ.

from his AP Government class are doing exit polling in our town.

So, I'll ask him what his sample said. Ward 3 in our town though...probably bright red.

Anything that helps young people engage in their civic responsibilities is unequivocally awesome. I hope it goes well!!

Final adjusted ones can be extremely valuable to indicate shifts among voting blocks.

I'll be particularly interested in the final House Exit Poll. For example, the 2014 version had 40% conservatives and 23% liberals. That is an absolute killer. It demonstrated that our voting blocks simply didn't show up. The 2016 split was 36-27 so in 2014 the electorate was 4% more conservative and 4% less liberal.

If we can keep 2018 close to 2016 then we should have an excellent night. I don't expect it to stay at 9% gap between conservatives and liberals. Fewer women show up in midterms so the electorate is always more conservative than presidential years. I'd be satisfied with 10% but I expect 11%. That should still be okay, given our projected and logical edge among moderates.
