I have never seen such sunshine pump up the ass bullshit. Anyone who has posted in the last day with negative thoughts about the election gets shouted down, called a Debbie Downer.
Seriously. Look and the last mother fucking two weeks and pull your head out.
1. Every major Democratic official (National level) was part of an assassination attempt.
2. A Jewish Synagogue was shot up and harmless elderly people were killed.
Yet the mother fucking majority of white MALE AND FEMALE voters supported the party that brought this on this great Nation.
Polls were wrong yet again, BULL FUCKING SHIT! SO THE FLORIDIANS VOTE TO GIVE FELONS THE RIGHT TO VOTE, YET THE TWO MAJOR STATEWIDE RACES GO AGAINST DEMS.
SERIOUSLY, FUCKING SERIOUSLY! POLLS WRONG, FUCKING YOUTH VOTE SKYROCKETS, TURNOUT SKYROCKETS. Oh but we lost. FOR FUCKS SAKE PEOPLE!
Buy hey, we got the House so we are going to subpoena them and make them understand that they were wrong. FUCKING SERIOUSLY?!
You seriously are trying to argue that the racist fucks are going to see the error in their ways, you seriously are going to argue that the National media are going to shine the light on the cock roaches? THEY JUST FUCKING DID! You think they will continue or will they go back to their old ways.
So now the shit stain just gives a big FU to Democracy, you really think a subpoena from the House is going to stop him?

If we assume they really were motivated by a Caravan, make them fear something else more.

(53,764 posts)probably in Texas too. Are you advocating more than taking to the streets? Because the next step after that is actual revolution.
Is that what you're suggesting, and if you are are you ready yourself for that?
Or maybe since we now have the House and several more statehouses we gear up for a campaign that aggressively combats repug vote suppression as well as re-instates paper ballots nationwide.
We're fucked.

I want to nominate and elect scrappers and strategists.
Crusaders not pragmatists.
I want my party to go Machiavelli on the Nazi party.
I want to drive the fascists from the face of history.
No more Mr./Ms./Mrs. Nice party.

(143 posts)Subpoenaing and squeezing the hell out of swamp rats is how we get rid of them (see Pruitt, Price, and probably Zinke in the near future). It's not just making them understand that they are wrong; it's bombarding them with court actions for their corruption that eat up their bank accounts and their hair until they can't take it anymore.
Also, say goodbye to any of Spanky's idiotic policies that must be passed through Congress (most of them). Any agenda he tries to pass by his new Supreme Court will take ten times as long (with less than half the possibilities) as it would if he had both houses of Congress.

(53,410 posts)attacking those on your side youll be ready to see that Trump did NOT win this one.
I know instant gratification is desirable, but winning the House means that unless Trump has the military backing him and is willing to murder anyone who opposes him then he just lost one of his major weapons in his pursuit of a Fascist America. He can no longer continue what he was doing as far as destroying our country. Thats how important winning the House is. He has lost half the power he had. And we have gained the power he lost.
And we won the House in spite of every low life trick the GOP has put in place. His march towards Fascism has been stopped. The nature of our struggle has changed because we derailed his plans. We didnt just slow him down. We destroyed his plans. He will not become the first American Dictator.

(33,320 posts)C'mon now, big red dog, be nice. Bark at the crazy orange thing in our White House. Bark at the weird half-human turtle thing in the Senate. Bark at the crazy Red Nazis creeping around in several state houses.
Don't be barking at the Blue people; they're not the burglars and vandals. Stay ready; not done smacking the bad guys yet.

But I stopped reading as it was akin to someone yelling - FIRE!!!!!! FIRE!!!!! GOD DAMNIT!!!! FIRE!!!! WAKE UP!!!! - as we all just got handed a working hose. The hose may not be enough and the fire may consume us, but we did just get handed a hose, FFS.
Panic all you want but don't demand we do.

(45,042 posts)If you don't like what posters say you can ignore them, or in this case enlighten them if you think their thoughts are stupid. The only real power we have is the subpoena and the use of the committees. Trump will ignore whatever he wants and the Republicans will remain silent. You are right though, to think we can play nice with people who want us dead is a little naive and any action like that will cost the Dems in the long run. So I'm gonna be rec # 10.

(6,137 posts)this is a violent country, we are trying our best to move forward with incremental steps. There will be many more moments of anger in the next two years but for now lets at least feel better that we took the house back.

(2,897 posts)predicted by the polls.
Anyone hyping themselves up to a Dem Senate prior to Tuesday was hoping for disappointment. Heck, the polling average that had Donnelly up by 1.3 (well within a margin of error) consisted solely polls that never had him break 45% in a notoriously hard to poll state. Beto never lead a poll, and only closed significally in the end. Heitkemp was a goner before her Kavanaugh vote and McCaskill, when she led polls, was well within the margin of error and down in the averages. Unfortunately for her, Hawley didn't have a Todd Akin moment.
You're not being shouted down if people are telling you that your expectations were extraordinarily high to begin with. The House was always the primary target. The Senate was always a long shot simply due to the map. Folks who were paying attention knew this in 2012 and it became abundantly clear in 2016 w/ we failed to pick up some purple seats to offset Red State losses.
