Joy Behar just said the whole Acosta thing was a set up.Trump didn't need to call on him. He WANTED a fight, a distraction. I agree.

(56,077 posts)i can only imagine how donnie would have mistreated her, and how the press corps and the media as a whole would have reacted to *that*.

(27,823 posts)I wish Joy could have spoken a little longer, before MotorMouth McCain started rambling. Someone needs to inform her that the show is 'The View' and not 'Megan's Rambling Opinion on EVERYTHING'. Whoopie needs a taser.

(56,077 posts)she tried to grab the mic but didn't succeed. then she retreated and looked away, paused, and then went back for another attempt.
it certainly seemed like she was being directed to make another attempt.

Looked way too staged. And then, Sarah Huck's accusation that Acosta assaulted the intern to legitimize yanking his credentials.
Despicable liars, all of them!

(9,713 posts)Clumsy, easy to dissect, all effect and no substance. She probably thought it was cute to use the accusation of a male accosting a female against someone perceived to be liberal media.
enough
(13,711 posts)so-called meltdown was to escalate the theatrics of his battle with the media. The absurd situation with the female staffer going after Acostas mike was just another pre-arranged phase of the same charade.
Were going to be seeing a lot more of this. The scariest thing about it is how we keep falling for it.

(11,885 posts)He also does this when his intel team (probably foreign) get dirt on people , then he starts attacking knowing he'll pull it out to use against them with it all. He plans ahead before his attacks.

(18,713 posts)I would encourage them to seek out the pics showing the smug ass grins on Kushner and SHS faces as Acosta is initially asking his questions. This was a blatant set up and attack on the free press in this country.

(3,211 posts)I do not know how these reporters can keep a straight face and ask serious questions when the man who is in the office of the POTUS looks like an ORANGE RACCOON (only much less adorable!).

Acosta, btw, doesn't strike me as the brightest bulb in the chandelier. Frankly, none of the WH press corps does. Although did notice a cool new guy there yesterday - I want to look up.
