PLEASE NOTE THAT I AM NOT ASKING FOR MEDICAL ADVICE. I AM TRYING TO CONNECT WITH A CARDIOLOGIST WHO CAN GIVE A FEW MINUTES TO BRIEFLY LOOK AT AN EKG.
I have an EKG that lasts several hours. It has some very strange looking features to it. This may be part of a legal case on behalf of an elderly family member who had to go to ICU after a study that went wrong. I would like a cardiologist to take a look at the EKG and to tell us if there was something wrong going on because we have not been able to get answers from her doctors. If there is a problem we will pay a cardiologist for a detailed report. Are you a cardiologist or do you have a cardiologist in the family or as a friend who could help? If so, please PM me. Thank you.

(29,699 posts)It's against TOS we are not allowed to give any medical advice of any kind. You might want to just self-delete that one. I suggest you see your real cardiologist. Good luck!

(9,078 posts)we cannot get answers from our own doctors. This is because they are covering their own backs and won't admit to anything.

(4,448 posts)Find a cardio doc in the next town over, that isn't your doc.
explain over the phone what you are asking for and schedule an appt.
FWIW, however. At a minimum you already have a trust issue with your docs. It's probably time to switch to resolve that issue.

(9,078 posts)come up against a brick wall of denial of provable facts. We therefore decided to make this a legal case. The lawyer says they need more facts, but when you contact another cardio doctor's office and say you need an expert opinion for a legal case, the reaction isn't very welcoming. It's like asking one doctor to act against another doctor. Might have to use the services of a cardio expert witness, but they are very expensive, so would like to connect with a cardiologist who can say "yeah there's a problem, or there's not a problem" before making that investment. It is a Catch 22.

(2,857 posts)Nobody can give you advice online here though.
I doubt a cardiac Dr. You are seeing will want to spill any beans that might be spillable.

(16,296 posts)they will not charge you anything unless they take the case and they will get a cardiologist to read the chart.

(16,296 posts)between the study the person was involved in and the EKG readings. That is going to prove the difficult part. I hope they didn't sign any sort of waiver of injury/harm before the study.

(9,078 posts)endangered his life. If we can show there is anything alarming in the EKG, the case is that they were constantly monitoring him but took no action. He only went to the ER and intensive care because I insisted. There was a waiver, but not against negligence.

(4,448 posts)I hope you get what you need.
But their are serious legal, ethical and insurance reasons why it's unlikely to get help over the internet for that.

(9,078 posts)thinks we might have reason to pay out of pocket to get an expert opinion. The problem is that all the family member's doctors, including cardiologist, are associated with the healthcare group that almost killed him. We need an independent eye.
