I've noticed his base is amazingly quiet. It's welcome, of course, but his trolls haven't really been up to their normal vitriol. I can't wait to see how they try to spin this bullshit. My guess is he'll be stupid enough to try and turn this around and say the "real" disrespect is football players taking a knee, the press is the enemy of the people, it's all fake news and everybody is picking on him, so he HAS to punch back. You know...his normal reaction to anything when there's applause involved. And his base will howl their approval. January 3rd can't come soon enough.

Obviously he could not travel by helicopter to the cemetery on Sunday due to the rain. The alternative was a 90 minute drive through the countryside. Maybe he feared that the long drive would put his life at risk. On the same day, when a large group of world leaders marched together to the Champs-Élysées ceremony, Trump arrived by motorcade. Was he afraid to walk with them out in the open? I am not making excuses but rather making an observation.
