Brent Musburger apologizes 'if you were offended' by his mocking Senator Elizabeth Warren

Last week, Oakland Raiders radio voice Brent Musburger sent out a tweet mocking Massachusetts Sen. Elizabeth Warren’s claim of having Native American heritage.

The tweet included an image of men wearing Native American headdresses standing behind President Donald Trump at a Montana campaign rally, chiding them as Warren’s “relatives.”

The tweet drew backlash and prompted Musburger to address the issue during Sunday’s radio broadcast of the game between the Raiders and the Los Angeles Chargers.

He apologized “if you were offended” by the tweet and claimed “I was just having fun,” according to ESPN’s Paul Gutierrez.

Musburger’s tweet came prior to Tuesday’s midterm elections that saw Trump make a whirlwind tour of the country to drum up support for GOP candidates.

Trump, who commonly uses racist and xenophobic tactics to stir up his base, frequently mocks Warren as “Pocahontas” over her claim to have Native American heritage.
