One thing that bugs me about election vote counting..

With the high stakes of who gets elected and to make sure that our votes actually do count...

Why aren't ballots treated with the same respect as you would $$$$$....

In a business it would be considered unforgivable to just "lose" $10,000 here.... $1000, $2000 here... ect... ect...

Collect $100,000 and don't worry about the $20,000 you couldn't collect or find...

For me in this modern age where we can track billions of $$ to the penny.

+/- 10% margin of error in book keeping would raise eyebrows and get you audited immediately...

However, this level of book keeping seems to be accepted as the norm in election results....

I believe this aspect of voting needs to be changed....

Just my opinion.... I'm a little miffed that in the tight races currently going on... they're hunting down those $1000 bills laying around...

It was my FIRST time in my life voting...

MY Vote was worth at least a dollar...

It's this level of book keeping that keeps some people from voting.... Just to be honest...

There are distinct tendencies from state to state and nothing is out of whack in 2018, yet geniuses like Trump and Hannity are acting as if is outrageous and equates to fraud.

If Gillum and Nelson had trailed by 20,000 to 30,000 at midnight on election night I would have been thrilled as a Miamian, knowing that the late numbers from the huge Democratic counties would put them over the top. Instead it was more like 60,000 to 90,000 and that seemed out of reach.

In Virginia the northern counties always report very late and turn the tide wildly in favor of the Democrat. Even huge deficits can be overcome, as George Allen learned the hard macaca way in 2006. But imagine if there were some glitch and those counties didn't count until a day or two later. All of a sudden there would outrage and claims of fraud from Republicans, because suddenly their lead of 100,000+ votes is gone.

If it was $$…. it would be unacceptable...

It wouldn't hurt... and I think it would help the country overall... let's pump a few billion dollars into our election process and modernize it....

This creates terrors of it's own, but surmountable .... but we as a country need to take our democracy seriously....

Our votes should be treated with the same respect as $$

A campaign can literally go on for years but results are announced within hours

EVERY vote should be counted TWICE before any announcements

We can wait another week

it's the fact that there's uncounted ballots... and ballots that in all actuality have been thrown away if someone was declared a winner...
