Dems should focus on modernizing voting and making it convenient, not directly on rights.

I think focusing too directly on voting rights actually works against voting rights. It raises opposition in the minds of many followers of Republicanism who associate voting rights with "minority voting rights." A lot of their nastier players then do whatever they can to monkey wrench the systems and processes that deliver voting access to minorities.

If we focus on modernizing voting and making it more convenient, then we could probably get a lot of Republican voters onboard. They don't like antiquated systems, standing in line, tricky registration red tape either. We could end run the anti-rights "segments" of the Republican base and leadership by not framing our argument as a rights argument. Modernization and voter convenience in the voting process would very much strengthen access (and also participation) organically imo.

Number one priority: Safe, un-hackable voting machines that produce paper ballots that can easily be recounted.

Number two: Fair redistricting- No Gerrymandering.

Number three: No PAC money allowed in elections.

Easy as one two three, abc, that's how easy voting should be.

Sadly,.the only way 3 happens is with constitutional amendment and that is about as likely as an honest discussion about gun control/violence with the NRA
