Probably catch hell here BUT question on pardons

IF one of RUMP pardons can be proven to obstruct justice, can ANYTHING be done about it? (My thought here is if he pardons Kushner, possibly this will protect RUMP himself?)

1. The pardonee wouldn't be unpardoned but it's possible

that promising someone a pardon in exchange for something else could be obstruction of justice.

4. It could be used as grounds for impeachment

But the House is not short on those.

There might be a criminal case for it. If so, it would be a Grand Jury that would make the judgement, I think.

5. Congress can't prosecute, only DOJ can.

But a congressional committee can investigate and recommend charges to DOJ who is then supposed to act but there is no guarantee it will.

3. what a convoluted mess these people are.

I have begun to doubt that this will ever be untangled and that the world will devolve into ashes and ruins.

9. Yes. I think he is sufficiently ignorant and delusional

(which is a pretty strange combination at best) that he does not understand the potential danger he and many of those around him are in, and he doesn't really understand how to use his pardon powers.

I was going to say that in his heart of hearts he things he's a good President, but I doubt his thought processes actually extend that far out. Keep in mind that he is a paranoid narcissist, meaning no one else is a real human being to him. He lives in a completely solipsistic world, and he cannot begin to imagine being held accountable for anything. And no wonder, since all of his life he's gotten away with doing whatever he wants, whenever he wants, and to whomever he wants. Winning the election two years ago only confirmed in his mind that he is the only person in the universe.

Of course, more to the point, he would not view those around him as co-conspirators, because that would necessitate his understanding of what he and those around him have really done, and to what extent they've been breaking all kinds of laws.
