Now another group of moderate Democrats is threatening to upend Pelosis House Speaker bid. And theyre working with Republicans to do it.
The House Problem Solvers Caucus, a bipartisan collection of lawmakers that reportedly has solved very few problems since its creation, is refusing to back Pelosi unless she adopts their proposed rule changes.
The Problem Solvers have billed the proposals as breaking the gridlock of Congress, but CNN notes the rules changes would empower rank-and-file members to push bills in the House, a power now reserved for the leadership.
Rep.-elect Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) ripped the Problem Solvers proposed GOP-friendly rules that will hamstring healthcare efforts from the get-go.

As The Intercepts Ryan Grim pointed out, the House Problem Solvers Caucus is backed by No Labels, an aggressively centrist political action group that has been called the most useless force in American politics.

(7,725 posts)Were rolling out some change. The gop lost the election. Elections have consequences and Hillary can breathe a sigh of relief that her own Congress isn't going to put her in jail. Nancy P is the Speaker for me!

(21,943 posts)and their first step to doing this is to cause a big problem by creating gridlock unless their specific demands are met.
Not exactly leading by example are they.

.... ... ideology is not driving this campaign, and this is no populist rebellion. In fact, its leaders have no discernible ideology at all.
Thats how corporate money rolls in the Democratic Party. It lays low, hides its true colors, and pretends it only wants to get things done.
The anti-Pelosi insurgency is not a movement. Its a cabal, orchestrated by the appropriately hashtagged #FiveWhiteGuys, a group of self-self-interested players with big money behind them. ....
...vague on the issues, big on cliches and platitudes, ... is the hallmark of centrism, the billionaire-funded political faction that serves its financial backers by selling themselves as non-ideological, technocratic architects of bipartisan consensus who can break the gridlock and solve problems.
For this crowd, solving problems always winds up meaning the same thing: cuts to Social Security and Medicare, and an unwarranted obsession with the federal deficit that alwaysjust accidentally, mind you!winds up helping corporations and the billionaire class. ....
...claims to be above parties and partisanshipwhich, in the end, is another way of saying its free of any principles except the interests of its paymasters. It often comes in the guise of patriotism, as when Seth Moulton says he places country over partya comment that, implicitly, is a deep insult to those who believe one partys proposals would serve the country better than the others.
The anti-Pelosi campaign is being supported by one of the mainstays of the corporate centrist worldthe cynical political ploy known as No Labels, which I wrote about in 2012, and its creation, the Problem Solvers Caucus. ... a guaranteed-employment plan for Republican and Democratic political hacks, ... ....

(33 posts)a diehard fan of Nancy Pelosi, but the notion of someone calling themselves a Democrat and trying to work with the Re-thuglicans is nauseating and rage inducing. After all that these people have done to our country, it borders on treason to try to ally with them to usurp the leading contender for the Speakership (and one, which, while I have my differences with, is admittedly an effective leader at moving things throught the House). We won the House back, due to hard work of so many; lets not throw that hard-earned victory away by immediately cow-towing to the enemy. And anyone who prefers that enemy to someone with solid Democratic credentials is a Quisling, Benedict Arnold traitor.

(17,203 posts)IF THEY CAN'T WORK >>>>>> WITH CONGRESSIONAL DEMOCRATS <<<<<<< then give them garbage or no assignments.
If they throw tantrums and act like a 3 year old, give them a time out until they start working FOR the people of the United States. As far as i am concerned..... these people are bad.
