I can't stand these right wing scumbags. Chuck Todd (jerk MTP) asked Senator Lee if he was for a "carbon tax" and Lee said it would destroy the economy. What A LYING Asshole. Trying to "scare" people into not supporting THE ONLY THING THAT MAKES SENSE TO ADDRESS GLOBAL WARMING.

You know what will destroy the economy Mike Lee? Doing not a god damn thing. Business as usual. Doing nothing while half the country either burns or is blown or washed away with ever increasingly bad weather events and droughts.

Taxing fossil fuel use and using the money to build out renewables will grown the economy not destroy it you liars. When you sell gas, natural gas, and coal, include the cost of planting trees or sequestering the carbon that will be released with the fuel. Then use the cash to plant trees, build out wind, solar etc. and put oil drillers to work installing solar panels, and windmills.

Everyone wins, especially our grandchildren who will at this rate inherit 40 trillion in debt and a country half on fire, and half under water.....

By the way. F you Mike Lee, and all your fossil fuel loving Republican planet wasters. I wish a house of one of you Senators burned to the ground, and maybe you might think different.

Using the word tax may have scared voters away from the Washington initiative. It is also complex for many people to understand - they would actually have to read the text of the bill.
The oil industry had an easy time of shooting that one down, even though their ads were lies.
