Bernie-Gabbard 2020?

Tulsi Gabbard and other panelists just spoke at the Bernie Institute in Vermont, where Bernie himself was present.

Gabbard’s Saturday panel was titled “Civil Rights, Immigration & Human Dignity.”

I can see Bernie giving Gabbard the VPN nominee position as a way to make inroads with women after a feisty 2016 against Hillary Clinton. Bernie might also believe that Gabbard compliments him in the foreign affairs front.

This is just me speculating though.
Susan Sarandon was also a panelist in the event, moderated by James Zogby.
Interesting tidbit:

Zogby did not ask Gabbard about Syria nor did she address it.

If they would both go for it. I am remembering that, back when she very publicly attacked and burned her future with her Democratic colleagues, she sought a new ideological home with the Sanders campaign. For whatever reason, although he allowed a few pictures to be taken with her, he otherwise declined to take her in at that time.

Maybe he didn't like her erratic and conservative bents? There was her connection with Sheldon Adelson. Otoh, she and the Adelsons seem to have also parted company some time ago.

Her attempt to conciliate Trump and get an in with the Trump administration clearly failed. Otoh, reportedly a lot of trumpsters took to her, their favorite Dem. Not a surprise as many trumpsters are both socially conservative and economically progressive. If she's now anti-Trump, though, she's liable to find herself out with them too.

Her conciliatory visit to mass child-murderer Bashar-al-Assad got the neocons swinging sticks at her, while that andTrump and her admission that she was "conflicted" about the use of torture had most Democrats once again seriously wondering what was wrong with her voters.

She seems to be quarreling with Hawaiian dissidents. Something about blocking them on Twitter? If some of them are at Hawaii Free Press, I could see why she wouldn't like it.

But what could it mean that, instead of getting a cease-and-desist order from a Hawaiian court, she instead hired a former WSJ journalist, partner in a PR firm that is working to clean up Russian and Bahraini images (Christopher Cooper of the Potomac Square Group) to help with her problems with local Hawaiian media? Potomac Square is involved with a Russian-backed scheme to destroy the reputation of Magnitsky Act creator Bill Browder, who is an inspiring hero to Russian dissidents opposing Putin and a major problem to Putin.

Don't know what to make of all this, but could Gabbard possibly be the next Jill Stein? She does want to run for president, not VP.

I have been traveling for the last ten days to places at or below sea level and was just fine. I live at5500ft elevation now, was at 7000 for many years.

When I got home I was exhausted, needed some sleep and had not eaten anything during he day, early flight home w/90 minutes of driving to get to my place. I think what nailed me was that I had been to a friend's a week before I went on this trip and my friend gave me a bunch of cuttings to plant. I did that a day before I left and I used fertilized potting soil since I wouldn't be here to do anything with them for ten days.

They all survived but I forgot about the elemental phosphates used in the fertilizer in a closed apartment. Since it was freezing out and I had to warm up the place I didn't open any windows, put my stuff away and took a nap. I awoke to illness, I think it was the phosphates. I used to live in a town where there is an elemental phosphate facility and I would get sick whenever the fumes wafted into the valley where I lived. It was like getting hit in the face with a bag of fresh fertilizer when I walked out of the house on the really bad days. Glad I moved away, and now I recall exactly why it was so important that I did.

I think it was a combination of factors but the phosphates really tipped the scale.

I aired out the place and will keep one window slightly open, in the room the plants are now in, during the night so I can get some real rest. I'm working on a tall smoothie right now for nutrition, should be myself by morning.

Yikes. Glad I didn't have any plans for the weekend other than recovering from the trip.

Whenever I am ill, it becomes the main topic of my internal dialogue to figure it out. I do natural remedies unless I'm ripped open or something I can't deal with alone. I have to figure it out so I can calculate the remedy. In this case it was simple, get fresh air in the place and get some nutrients into my body.

By this afternoon I was having coffee withdrawals so I made a cup of weak coffee and was feeling better after that so I got brave and made a smoothie, it was really good and now I'm feeling much better except for those muscles that got pushed hard during the bad moments.

I will sleep very well tonight!

Sat Dec 1, 2018, 10:38 PM
Dec 2018

I think that sanders is busy selling his latest book and will not run in 2020. To run in 2020, sanders would have to comply with the new DNC rules and formally join the party, agree to run as a member of the party and to govern if elected as a member of the party. In addition, sanders would have to release five to ten years of tax returns in states where ballot access laws have been or will be adopted. I really doubt that sanders will do either of the above.

If sanders does run, he will not be the nominee. There are too many real hard core democrats who have long memories. I will support the nominee but I am sure that without African American, Latino or Jewish voter support, sanders has no chance of being the nominee. sanders did too much to help trump get elected to get the support of many real democrats.

Only 3 of the 45 presidents (Harrison, Reagan and Trump) have been over 65 when taking office. Trump holds the record at 70 years and 220 days. Sanders would be 79+. Biden would be 78+. Kerry would be 76+. Warren would be approaching 72. Holder would be 70. Inslee would be just shy of 70.

The last 5 Democratic presidents have been ages 47, 46, 52, 55 and 43 when taking office.
