Sully has been George H.W. Bushs service dog for the last couple months.
Even after his death, he was right at his side.
We do not deserve dogs.

I haven't shed a tear for GHWB or his family. Not to be cruel or unkind in any way. He led a long and glorious life. There is no need to cry.
But poor Sully will never really understand. He's going to feel lost for a while. I hope someone in the family takes extra good care of him as he gets used to missing his dear friend.

(8,003 posts)9. I read that Sully will go to Walter Reed
to be a dog of service to others. He will miss his last person, but will have others to take care of very soon. Safe travels to your next job, Sully.

I would be nice if Sully stayed with the Bush family but to my knowledge there is no one in the family in need of a service dog.
Let Sully grieve, and I'm sure he does or will, then let him go to another similar situation, where he is needed.
